In the Workbook are pages of sheet music for traditional dances from various cultures. There are also pages about some of the traditional instruments, such as the Bulgarian flute, which are used by musicians from various cultures. There are music theory pages describing the various scales and rhythms that will be used when playing the repertoire of the World Music Youth Orchestra and Band. And, of course, there is information about Jutta & the Hi-Dukes, who they are, the band’s history, and much more.

Call for details (847) 864–1022 between 10 AM and 10 PM C.S.T.

All of the sheet music used in the program will be presented in the proper transpositional keys for Concert, Bb, Eb, Viola, Cello, and Bass clefs. The arrangements of the music are quite flexible so that the same arrangements can be used both by newer musicians (who still need to play in unison, not yet ready for playing fully arranged pieces of music) and by more advanced players.

The Hi-Dukes will work with all participants to make sure that the sheet music they use will fit their skill levels, adapting and changing the sheet music so everyone gets the maximum benefit possible from participating in the program.

“We have enjoyed seeing our children grow in coordination and confidence through their lessons with you. Your classes, both the dance and violin, are highlights in our week.”
Kristin and Jeff Andrews

“Hi there great music teachers,
Where do we begin, for there are little words to describe the gratitude and joy we feel for what you’ve taught our girls. They clearly have a wider appreciation for all kinds of music and styles of dance which we accredit to the exposure of the world music and dance you have brought to them. Thank you so very much. . . All our best, ”
The Dugo family

“As a parent, I love knowing they are learning so much more like counting, rhythm, memorizing, following directions, muscle development, coordination, and appreciating music from other cultures.”
Miranda Junge
